Pictured is the old railway bridge over the Valentia River in the heart of the market town of Cahersiveen. Cnoc na dTobar (hill of the wells) is visible in the background.

The Great Southern and Western railway, opened in 1893, ran from Valentia Harbour to Farranfore. It eventually closed down in 1960. Several remnants can be seen in the area, with the bridge in the town of Cahersiveen being an obvious example.

The bridge is not currently accessible, but plans are underway to convert the former railway into a cyclepath, which will encompass the bridge and other infrastructural works.

Our art prints are produced on acid-free papers using archival inks to guarantee that they last a lifetime without fading or loss of color. All art prints include a 1" white border around the image to allow for future framing and matting, if desired.
